It's time for another entry at the CDAC-told you I love the challenges there ;)
This time round it's an anything goes challenge. Unlike most 'anything goes' challenges, they literally mean ANYTHING. It doesn't have to be a paper craft. Sweet!
I've been re-purposing a cork board to fit into my craft room, now it is completed. I knew there were 4 images I wanted on it that would be permanent. My lovely children and hubbie. While I don't share my children's images online, here is my board,pre-pictures.
I have no idea what's going on with the 'B' but it doesn't look that in real life.
Anywho, it was really quite a happy accident with that black paint. I didn't realize the wood had been treated and therefore would not accept the paint. So I scuffed up some of the sides and let it sink it. It really gave it a distressed look.
Well nothing says "gorgeous distressed", like Basic Grey papers, so I rummaged through my stash and found the butterfly paper. I cut out the butterflies using a SU die and then sponged around the edges to continue the 'distressed' theme.
I then took my pictures and matted them with black cardstock and adhereed them to the cork board. Voila! A constant reminders of the beautiful blessings I have in my life :)
I do have some space around the word blessings and I think I may add some of my favourite scripture verses...have to see how that looks.
Thanks again for stopping in. I appreciate your comments :)
Laura, this is a very fun project! I love the distressed wood look. So great. What a meaningful project to hang on your walls in your craft room. Thanks so much for sharing the project at CDAC for the anything goes challenge.
