Look over here ---------------------------------------------------------------------->
Notice anything new? It's a new DT badge :) I have the privilege of being on the Digi Darla Design Team-woot woot!
The announcement was made Monday and today I get to show you a card I made for the current challenge 'blues'
I love this little mermaid. It reminds me of the quote by Drew Barrymore 'I wish I had 8 arms so I could hug you tighter'
I followed a card sketch found online and glittered up the octopus for some sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting!

I'm 'spiraling' out of control!
This week at the Hambo Hoedown the challenge is to 'make a circle card' and 'use spirals or swirls'.
Clearly I don'tlisten read well. I made a cute card using this weeks digi from Hambo stamps called 'Plate-Spinner'. All I remembered when I sat down was circles. So I pulled out my polka dot paper, made some swirls and coloured the digi.
When I went to upload my card-duh! I forgot it was suppose to be the shape of a circle. So I had to reconfigure my card and came up with this
I cut out the digi and popped up each plate. I added some gems and 3 swirls. I added my hubbie's name using a die cute from SU.
He is my biggest fan, even when I'm Oscar the grouch. I thought I'd make this for him and let him know what I really thought of him...then I erased it and used the sentiment from Hambo instead (I'm totally joking-lol) Love that guy :)

Designed 2 Delight Challenge
It's time for the Designed 2 Delight progressive challenge! Before I continue I thought I'd let you know that they have changed their name to 'From the Heart'.
Faith has done it again, with another great digital stamp. This one called Cupcake Lineup, is perfect for me! In January we have something like 23 birthdays between family and friends, so I make LOTS of birthday cards!
Here is my card for the challenge
I cut out the cupcakes separately and popped them up. I coloured them with copics, then glittered the tops. Isn't that background paper awesome? I picked it up on clearance from Michael's a few weeks ago. I think it's perfect with the images!
Thank you for taking time to pop in, have a wonderful day :)

CDAC anything goes
It's time for another entry at the CDAC-told you I love the challenges there ;)
This time round it's an anything goes challenge. Unlike most 'anything goes' challenges, they literally mean ANYTHING. It doesn't have to be a paper craft. Sweet!
I've been re-purposing a cork board to fit into my craft room, now it is completed. I knew there were 4 images I wanted on it that would be permanent. My lovely children and hubbie. While I don't share my children's images online, here is my board,pre-pictures.
I have no idea what's going on with the 'B' but it doesn't look that in real life.
Anywho, it was really quite a happy accident with that black paint. I didn't realize the wood had been treated and therefore would not accept the paint. So I scuffed up some of the sides and let it sink it. It really gave it a distressed look.
Well nothing says "gorgeous distressed", like Basic Grey papers, so I rummaged through my stash and found the butterfly paper. I cut out the butterflies using a SU die and then sponged around the edges to continue the 'distressed' theme.
I then took my pictures and matted them with black cardstock and adhereed them to the cork board. Voila! A constant reminders of the beautiful blessings I have in my life :)
I do have some space around the word blessings and I think I may add some of my favourite scripture verses...have to see how that looks.
Thanks again for stopping in. I appreciate your comments :)

It's a MelJen's 'white out'
This week at the MelJen's challenge blog the theme is 'white out'. The challenge is to use white everywhere (on your digi is ok)
Melissa is also having a sale right now so I snagged a few new digis. I used one of them called Sweet Little Rainbow to make my card
I printed the image out twice so I could cut out the clouds. I popped them up and added glitter. I embossed the background with a SU dot template and completed my card by adding two types of white ribbon. The rainbow was coloured with copic markers. I printed the sentiment off my computer.
Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic day!
p.s. I have some fantastic news to share but I can say just yet......stay tuned ;)

CDAC Progressive Challenge
Are you a member over at the CDAC yet? Do you like challenges? Then join in! It's free to join and there is lots to do!
If you've been following along, you'll notice I've already been joining in on the fun.
Today I am sharing a card for the progressive challenge. The image is from Shelly's images and is free this round if you join in before March 31st.
I love to take an image and think outside the box. I chose to use this image in a Christmas card verses a traditional Valentine's day card.
I distressed the edges, coloured the angel with copics and glittered her wings. The sentiment I printed off the computer, the button is from my stash. The inside reads " Christmas blessings of love and peace" So what do you think? Does it work as a Christmas card?
And don't forget......
There is still one week left to join in the Clear it Out Challenge Blog! The stash item is circles with a theme of anything goes. We are also having a DT call, anyone can apply. Can't wait to see your creations!

Awww, how thoughtful!
As many of you know,, I gave away a few prizes Jan 1st for being a follower of my blog. One of my lucky winners was Nikki from Limited Runs Digital Stamps. She won the gift package of craft items.
It was so sweet of her to send me a thank you card. It's adorable and I just had to share it with you
Thanks Nikki for making me smile! Have a great day everyone!

Winter animal fun!
It's time for another challenge at Jellypark Challenges. The theme is winter animals. I was so excited to be placed in the Top 3 last challenge. What an honour!
I am also entering this into the CDAC's challenge of seasons. It's been a fairly snow-free winter here, which is so unusual, until this week :) It was great to get outdoors and make some snowman.
I still have lots of Christmas crafty bits on my desk so I thought I'd continue my Christmas cards. Hopefully I'll be prepared this year-lol
Here is my card using a JellyPark image
I realize my picture looks dull but I am hopeful that will change soon. My hubbie and eldest son just finished putting my desk together and a craft light is next on my list!
Until then, thanks for popping :)

It's Hambo time!
I managed to sneak away a few minutes and type up this post. The kids are home on a P.D. day today and it snowed! So I doubt we'll be spending much time indoors today. I see snowman, snow forts, and cold toes in my future!
This week at the Hambo Hoedown it's time to 'use up leftovers'. I used the 'refrigerator' digi by Hambo Stamps to make my card.
Instead of using the traditional white/gray fridge, I chose to combine this challenge with the inspiration challenge at the CDAC. When I saw the teal, I knew what I wanted to do
Teal is my favourite colour. I would love to have a teal coloured fridge! It wouldn't match a darn thing in my house, but I'd love it! Lol. I'm going to write my hubbie's name on the yellow part between the lighter teal circles to finish it off. My leftovers is the teal paper on top (and the circles) I took those out of my scrap bin. Tons of left over bits in there! The heart is also a left over from my wedding album (15 years in May )
Yeah, I need to seriously use up some stuff. Don't worry though, you won't see me on an episode of hoarders, I 'm not THAT bad.....yet.

Digi Darla meets the CDAC
Hello everyone, happy Thursday! The kids have a p.d. day tomorrow so I was crafting away today to get ahead on some challenges I wanted to enter. I am entering two challenges today. The first is the DigiDarla Challenge which is 'anything goes' . The digi I used is from Digi Darla called 'Great big world'.
The second challenge is from the CDAC. It's a great group of crafter's and after a much needed break, the challenges are back on-yahoo! The challenge there is 3-2-1. 3 pieces of bling, 2 designer papers, and 1 flower.
I added the computer generated sentiment, and coloured her with my copics. I just adore this girl from Digi Darla's isn't she cute?
Thanks a bunch for stopping by, until next time...

Designed to Delight Monthly Challenge
Faith has made another lovely digi for her progressive challenge participants called 'Tweet Birthday Gift'. If you head on over to her blog at Designed 2 Delight, you can get details on how to play along!
Here is my card:

It was hard for me to get the sizing right for this one. I ended up making a mini card that I can add to a gift bag. I coloured her with my copic markers and used a SU stamp. The cupcake is glittered.
Hope you like it :)

MelJen's Challenge Time
Hello :) I hope you are all having a fabulous Friday!
Today the children were to stay home as the teachers in our district were on strike. We knew there was a possibility that it may be called off and were advised to watch the news. Nothing was on the news at 11pm so I made plans to take them to a friends house in the morning.
Well, the joke was on me. We knocked, and knocked on the door and no one came. Must have slept in, we thought.
As we passed by the school in the rain we didn't noticed anyone protesting....hmm I thought, is there school? I went to the grocery store and saw lots of children. Phew, so it is a home day......wrong!!
Four messages from the school asking if I knew the children weren't at school today. Apparently at 4:30 in the morning it was decided school would be on. Well, this may be shocking to know but since my children have been 8 months old I haven't seen 4:30 in the morning. Not once. So how on earth was I to know school was on??? Ugh.
I clearly didn't win 'mom of the year' as I took my kids to school at 11:30 am. However, it did give me time to do some crafting :) So always a bright side to things-lol
Imade this adorable card for the MelJen's challenge blog. The theme is to use the colours from the photo provided. Here is my card
I coloured the digi with my copic markers (E50, E53, E31)and added the purple ribbon for contrast (still keeping within the colour palette)
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

It's Hambo Time!
It's another challenge over at the Hambo Hoedown! This week the challenge is to use felt. I used an oldie but goodie digi from Hambo called 'eye monster'.
I wanted to make a card I can give my son for valentine's day :)
The monster was coloured with copic markers, the heart glittered with stickles. To cut the shape of the felt star, I punched out a cardboard template using my SU star punch. Faux stitching around the border and orange brads in the star finish off my card. I think he'll love it :)
Thanks for stopping in, as always I appreciate you taking the time to leave me comments.
Hugs
Laura

Hambo meets Clear it Out
It's Hambo time so head on over to their blog and join in the fun! The challenge is to use 3 of the 4 colours hot pink, aqua, orange, or sunny yellow. I used the Hambo digi 'solemates'.
It's also the second week at the Clear it Out Challenge blog 'warm fuzzies, use texture'
Here is my card (please excuse the photo, my lighting is horrible!) Hoping for my lighting box for my birthday next week!
I embossed the background with dots using my Big Shot. I printed the fishes in aqua, orange and pink on cardstock twice and popped them up.I added the purple ribbon scrap to finish it off.
Thanks for looking :)

New Beginnings
It's been a full day of crafting at my house with my little ones eager to make their Daddy a Birthday card. Needless to say I couldn't find my desk when I wanted to craft-lol. Once I unearthed it and put things away, I really started to notice things I don't use that often. Like my Big Shot. So, I pulled it out and was determind to incoporate it into this challenge.
The challenge this week at the MelJens's Challenge Blog is 'New Beginnings'. I knew I had a card to make that expressed exactly that. A friend of mine was left at Christmas time by her spouse of 11 years. So I made this to send to her
All the images are from MelJen's except the tag 'hugs' I wrote freehand. I glittered the clouds and coloured the bear with copic markers. I used my big shot to cut out the bear with a 'tags' die cut.
Inside I wrote "when someone closes a door, God opens a window"
Thanks for stopping by, have a great night!

Happy Birthday Boy Card
My friend's adorable little boy is turning two and I made this card for him. He is in love with Thomas the Tank and got a whole train table for Chrismtas, so I knew this image by Jelly Park was perfect!
The challenge at Jelly Park is to use something old and new. The old- my background papers. I've had them since 1998. Yes, I remember the date. I was pregnant with my first child and thought they would be great for his scrapbook. Clearly you can see how much I've been scrapbooking -lol.
My something new is the image, the ribbon, and the dark chocolate Bazzill paper :) I coloured the digi up with my copic markers.
I'd also like to enter this into the Forever Friends Challenge . This is a new challenge site for me but after I saw the card made my Cotnob, I had to check it out! The theme is Birthday.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate your kind comments :)

Digi Darla Challenge Time!
This week the challenge at Digi Darla's is to use ribbon. I picked up this adorable image Archer girl a while back and just love it. I love how strong she presents herself, yet feminine :)
Here is my card.
I used a colour combo of soft yellows, deep red and browns. Not my fav but I think I made it work.
I added glitter to the arrows and popped up the panel with pop dots. She is coloured with copic markers.
Thanks for stopping by. The challenge runs until Dec 5th :)
