Christmas craftiness

I thought I'd show you an ornament craft I facilitated at a women's retreat last year. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is really lovely.

Scroll down for the info on how to make it

I purchased the flat round ornament from Michael's and the ribbon is from my stash. The nativity scene is a silhouette I found online and photocopied onto acetate.
I cut the scene into a circle and punched a hole in the top, threading through fishing wire. You cannot see the wire but it is an important step so your image doesn't turn on you. You roll up your image and plop it inside using a popcicle stick/pen, etc to help straighten it out.
The faux crystal beads were found at the dollar store and really make this ornament sparkle. After all that, the lid gets put back on and the ribbon added. Fairly easy, with a huge impact :)

Thanks for popping by
hugs

  1. Beautiful, I have always wanted to try making the glass ornaments and of course have a few in my stash, so many things to do and so little time. Your project is AWESOME. love the image, the true meaning of Christmas.

    1. Thank you Barbara. The women loved making them and they were super easy, but so pretty when done.
