It's almost here.....

Do you have your Halloween costume together yet? There certainly are some weird ones out there.
My kids have always wanted to create their own costume, sometimes they are great, other times....
My last minute costume has yet to be decided, but that's pretty usual for me. Lol

There is a challenge starting today at Melonheadz Friends called ' include a pumpkin'

Here is my card using a pre-coloured digi

This digi is actually from the 'bookmark bundle' found at the Melonheadz Etsy Store. You get 12 coloured bookmarks- themed for each month for only $7.00. I love them, and as you can see you can use them for more than just bookmarks.

The challenge runs for 2 weeks , I'll be popping by to see your cards :)

ATC

I joined a challenge this week at the Outlawz. It's been a while since I've been on there, truth be told I couldn't for the life of me remember my password-lol.

Here is my ATC -which was only 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches EEK! I had to cut it down a few times to make it fit that size.

I used a Karleigh sue image and coloured it with my copics. The sentiment I made in word and then I embellished from there. Hope you like it :)

Melonheadz challenge time!

Are you ready for a giggle? Well you would have been if you had seen the mess I made with this new challenge at Melonheadz Friends 'try something new'.

I thought I would try and make my own background. I thought I could use a gold spritzer I hadn't used in a while......

Enter flying gold particles, golden fingers, baby wipes and finally inks and a stipple brush. Check out the result

I am happy with the background, not so much with my craft space. Apparently the spritz nozzle can get jammed up if you leave it for too long and didn't flow quite the way I had planned. Imagine me looking down at my paper trying to spritz and out of the corner of my eye I see it shooting across the room. Yep, that happened :(

The good news is you can try anything that is new to you-a new fold, new technique, etc.

Looking forward to seeing your cards. The challenge runs for two weeks

Melonheadz Time!

Howdy folks! It was so nice to have the hubbie come home for the weekend from his work. Gave the kids happy hearts and this momma a much needed break!

This week the challenge at Melonheadz Friends is 'Time for school'.

The card I made was a snap to put together as the image was pre-coloured. It is from the We Love Frogs bundle you can purchase at the Melonheadz Etsy Store. You get 11 images for 7.00.

Here is my card

This one is going to my little guy that has been extremely anxious about going back to school. He is graduating to the 'big side' of the school. His main concern is the new portable they added to the yard over the summer. I called and asked and he will not be in it. When I told him he says ' Phew, oh mom that is great news. I just don't think I was ready to be in there! Teehee, he's so cute.

The challenges at Melonheadz run for 2 weeks and I'll be popping by to check out your creations.
Thanks bunches for stopping in

I'm alive!

So here I am...barely. I've been battling the flu and a wicked chest infection so I haven't had much time for anything let alone crafting. The hubbie has been away on business and of course I have been ordered by the Dr to be on bed rest. I don't know how that is possible for anyone with children :(

Anywho, on the plus side I was able to do some colouring and made the perfect card this week. Both for how I'm feeling and for the Lacy Sunshine challenge.'something weird and different'

So here is my card and a pretty accurate self portrait right now ;)

Thanks for popping by. I've been up colouring quite a bit so stay tuned for more posts in the next few days!

Digi Sketch Time!

It's time to get your 'man' cards going and join us for a fun challenge at the Digi Sketch Blog.

You can follow the theme, sketch  or both. I chose to use both this round

I coloured this fun 'geeky' dude with my copic markers. He is from SLS Lines. I added the word awesome to his t-shirt ;) I matted him and the other sketch elements with brown cardstock from Stampin' Up. ( not sure if they even still sell this colour)

Anywho, you have 2 weeks to play along. I hope you'll join us. The winner gets 3 single images ( up to $10)

Have a great week, see you next time.

It's Melonheadz time

It's a 'Bright' challenge at Melonheadz Friends this round.

Here is a Christmas card I made using a Santa Digi

I coloured this cutie up with my Copic markers and added him to a primary paper background. I layered that on yellow then red to tie in the colours. To finish it off I added clear green gems to the corners for a little shine.

The challenge runs for two weeks. If you use a Melonheadz Digi your theme is anything goes. If not, you must follow the theme.

Can't wait to visit your blog and see your creations. The winner gets a digi pack from Nikki's store.

Until next time..

Our theme is flowers everywhere and here is the card I made

It's a simple card using 2 digis from Melonheadz. I embossed the first white layer with my Stampin' UP embossing folder. The flowers I cut out and adhered on each side of the sentiment. I think it turned out lovely and may even frame it :)

The challenge runs for two weeks. You can either follow the theme and use any digi, or use a melonheadz digi and use any theme.

It's time for another fun challenge at Melonheadz Friends.
Our theme this round is 'kids'

Here is the card I made using a freebie from Nikki's LDS site.

Since this was a coloured image it was an easy card to make. I popped up some clouds cut out from the background paper. I cut off the sentiment and made my own to make it a birthday card.

The challenge runs for 2 weeks. I hope you will join us! You can check out Nikki's blog here and her etsy store here.

Have a great day!

Sunday 10 May 2015

I did it!

Hello :) I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I accomplished my first 5km this weekend and received this

They call it the chocolate run, and they weren't kidding. There were chocolate covered strawberries on the way through ( both ways!!), there were tons of treats at the end too. Fudge, truffles, croissants, chocolate covered apples, chocolate milk and more. Such a fun race!

Last year I had set a goal to lose 40 lbs. While I 'only' lost 30lbs I was still proud of my accomplishment. This year I wanted to do a 5km. I was thinking later in the year ( like October) so I could practice. However, this race came highly recommended so I signed up.

I joked that I wouldn't come in last, heck I would trip the last person so I wouldn't be (just kidding). BUT, somehow I ended up being in the group that they call 'speed chasers'. So not in the 'runners group and not in the 'walkers' group. I started off walking but as people started running past me, I was determined not to be at the end and started to jog. It didn't last long-lol. I did however finish right in the middle of that group and for me that was huge! (I'll post my time/place info once I get it)

Anywho, just thought I would share. If you are looking for a fun race, I highly recommend it!

It's time for an 'anything goes' challenge at Penny's Challenges.

We have 2 fab sponsors and I had the honor of working with images from

Here is the card I made using the pre-coloured digi Birdie

I printed it twice so I could cut out the flower and pop it up using a dimensional. The sentiment I added on the computer before I printed the digi. I added a ribbon and a button for more detail to complete it.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I do hope you will pop over to the blog to check out the DT creations and see more info on our other sponsors.

Although out my window it looks like spring it just isn't here yet (temp is -3 this morning)

The paper is from Stampin' Up that I have had for...maybe 7 years (eek!) I added pearls,a sentiment from my digi stash, and of course this adorable hula girl that was a recent freebie on Nikki'sblog.

You can get fun images at Nikki's Melonheadz shop here

The theme is 'spots and stripes' and our fab sponsors is

I was given this cute little monkey to use

I coloured him up with my copic markers and added a flower and pearl to finish it off. I wasn't sure what to put on the outside of the card yet. I was thinking of putting a gift card inside to a restaurant and putting something like ' I was going to cook you a meal for your birthday ...' and on the inside ' but I wanted you to live to see another one!'

Yep, a not so inside joke about my delicious cooking.

Anywho, the challenge runs for one week.Go check out the blog to see the DT creations and who our other sponsor is **it's someone new!

It's Melonheadz Time

It's time for another great challenge at Melonheadz Friends!

I just love Nikki's images and found this one in my stash of goodies. It comes in a cute bundle called 'We love frogs' found here

The challenge is 'Die Cuts' so I pulled out my big shop and got cutting! I think this card is hilarious and since the digi was precoloured it came together in a snap.

You can check out the challenge blog here
and you can check out Nikki's shop here.

The challenge runs for two weeks and I'll be by to see what you've made :)

It's Digi Sketch time

Head on over to the Digi Sketch blog where the theme is 'Love is Love'. As always there is a sketch to follow.

Our sponsor is Dr. Digi and I got to use this fab digi for my card.

I coloured him up with my copic markers and added a sentiment from my stash ( sorry no label for the artist on that) I added a scallop punch to the left and a heart on the top corner to add a bit of detail.

The challenge runs for two weeks, we'd love to have you join us :)

Tuesday 10 February 2015

It's Penny time!

Head on over for another fun challenge at Penny's challenge.

This week it's 'embossing' and our fab sponsor is Sparkle N' Sprinkle

Here is the card I made

This image was precoloured so it was easy to assemble. The background was embossed with my SU big shot. I added pearls to finish it off.
I'm not sure the colour is the best for a sympathy card, it almost looks like a wedding card-maybe I'll change it. I think I am just so sick of the blah outside, I wanted colour :)

Anywho, the challenge runs for one week. Check out the DT cards and play along here

See you next time

Sunday 8 February 2015

Lacy Sunshine Challenge

It's challenge time at the Lacy Sunshine blog!

The challenge is have a heart, so in keeping with my Christmas cards I used the perfect image

I just love all the hearts on her wings and, even her wand is a heart :)
I think I did a good job of blending the challenge with the 'hearts'.

I coloured her with my copics, and used washi tape ( polka dots), I added a button with cord and a heart to go with my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping in :)

Wednesday 4 February 2015

Penny's challenge time!

It's a fav or fancy fold challenge at Penny's this week.

I chose to use one of my fav Christmas time folds-a gift card. It's super easy to make and you can get about 3 per 12 x 12 sheet with left overs :)

I used our sponsor
Due to the new EU regulations digis are not available at present but that Crafty Sentiments is trying to find a way to still be able to sell them

Here is my card
Here is the outside front. It measures just slightly higher than a gift card

Here is the back. The brads are attached behind the patterned paper so no fingers are poked when opened.
Here it is extended -the gift card goes on the other side attached with glue dots.
As you can see it's really easy to make. Measure your gift card and fold in the top and bottom. Cut off the corners to make the top and attach a brad (through a circle). Do the same on the bottom (notching it out-you can use the bottom of a square punch for that) To attached the string simple wrap around once and knot.
Quick easy way to present a gift card :)

The challenge at Penny's runs one week. Can't wait to see what you create :)

Tuesday 3 February 2015

Time to Clear it Out!

I just adore this stamp. I am going to be an Auntie again in March and we know it's going to be a boy. My little nephew will be joining such a fantastic family, I am so excited for them :)

My stash item is those blue flowers, I bought them on clearance at Michaels a while back. I also notice I need to fix my bow-eek! The sentiment I had stashed with no name ( I think maybe TLC?)  and of course I coloured it up with my copics.

The challenge runs for one week. Please pop by and see what the other DT members have made-there cards are gorgeous!!!!!
