Time to Clear it out!

Head to the Clear it out challenge and play along in our 'blues' challenge.

This week we used the sponsor Lacy Sunshine. Heather has some really cute digis and she updates her shop often. I used the image called Stork which can be found here

This is my favourite shade of blue and fits perfectly with this baby card. I coloured it up with my grey and pink copic markers adding Stickles to the bag. The blue buttons are from Stampin' Up I've had for a few years and the heart button is from my stash.

Here's a tip: I always donate my children's clothes to charity, but sometimes you come across something that needs to go in the garbage. Before you do that, check to see if there are any cute buttons on it. Simply clip them off and add them to your stash. Baby clothes have the cutest buttons on them!!

You  have one week to play along, challenge runs til Monday at midnight.

I am also entering this into the Lacy Sunshine challenge blog for Bingo-buttons, glitter, die-cuts.
Thanks for stopping by :)

It's Digi Darla day!

Head on over to the Digi Darla challenge blog for a vintage photo inspiration challenge!

I used the digi  All things bloom with love on my card

From the photo I chose to use the flowers, pearls and beige colours ( in my paper and lace). I don't think I've ever made a card with just a sentiment but I think it turned out lovely. I really like photo inspiration challenges because it gets interpreted in so many different ways. I can't wait to see how it inspired you!

The challenge runs for one week. The winner gets 5 digis. If you use a Digi Darla image you get entered into a draw for 3 more.

See you next week!

How I make money for Christmas-Swagbucks

I wanted to take a minute and share with you how I bought all my Christmas presents last year ($600) and how I am $70 away from getting my Silhouette Cameo for free.

This is not a get quick rich scam, nor some pyramid thingy. I refuse to do those, in fact I waited over 2 years to join Swagbucks and listened to what other's were saying first, but I'm so glad I did.

I will jot down some info on how to get Swagbucks and earn but before I do that I want to say that if you decide to join I would appreciate you using my referral code, so I can earn more Swagbucks.

Here it is:

and if you join before Feb 25th you can enter this code : FreeGiftCards and they will start you off with 50 SB (Swag-bucks)

What it is:

Swagbucks is a site where you do things such as : play games, answer surveys, daily polls, etc (more info below)

Each action you take earns you swagbucks. You can then redeem your swagbucks for gift cards. This is open to Canada and the U.S (other places as well). Gift cards includes; Amazon, Home Depot, Old Navy,  PAYPAL and more

What it's not:
You are not going to make a million dollars. How ever much time you spend is how much you earn.

So how do I earn and how long will it take?

Here is how I earn Swagbucks;

I open up my internet and earn 1 pt with the toolbar extention   =365 points/year

I play 10 quick games (about 1 minute each)= 10 sb/day        = 3650 points/year
(sometimes I let me kids play the games!)

The daily poll is 1 pt/day = 365 pts/yr
The NOSO (basically you just click through 5 arrows) for2 pts day   = 730/pts day

SO FAR this has taken me 10 minutes a day and has earned me 11 - $5.00 Amazon gift cards.

Doesn't seem like much right? But when you add the following it really does add up!

  • SBTV (watching 30-60 seconds of a video I usually do as  cook dinner) up to 150sb/day  =54,750 sb
  • Daily Surveys (if you qualify) 60 sb per survey
  • Offer wall-you can do/get all sorts of things on here -get swagbucks for signing up to things ( I generally don't do these unless it's at no cost to me) There are also surveys here in which you can make 48-150 sb each
  • Tasks-these vary in SB but can yield you some good swagbucks
  • Coupons-yes, you even earn on coupons they provide. Win-win!
  • Swagcodes-almost everyday Swagbucks gives you a free code-these are anywhere from 2 to 10 SB PLUS they have several Swagbuck days throughout the year where you can earn tons of codes
The 2 biggest I use are ;
  • Referrals-that's why I'd like you to use my code ;)  You can earn 10% right now on almost every swagbuck your referrals make-AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO  A THING!!

  • Shop and Earn-if you are going to buy online anyways, might as well get SB for it and pay yourself! For example when I bought some video games for the kids at Christmas I did it through Amazon. I paid using the Swagbucks gift cards that I earned ( so nothing out of pocket) then I received 2 SB for every dollar I spent. Is that not crazy?

I hope you will consider joining. I would not have even posted this if it wasn't something I have tried myself.
People were surprised when they found out how little out of pocket I spent at Christmas (mainly just for my mom who wanted something specific). I also stock up on kids' birthday gifts for the year and use the PayPal gift cards to buy digis :)
If you have any questions, ask away!

Melonheadz Friends-challenge time!

Come join the fun over at the Melonheadz Challenge blog!

This is my first posting as a Design Team member. If you are visiting here for the first time, welcome :)

I knew as soon as I saw this bundle from the Melonheadz etsy store it was perfect for this challenge.

Here is my 'Winter' challenge card using Gina's Winter Bundle

Before I get to the details can I do some math for you? This coloured bundle was $7.00 for 14 digis-that's .50 a piece -crazy right? You can get them in black/white too.

This card was really quick to pull together. I used mircosoft word and simply layered the images. The biggest boy I cut out twice and popped it  for dimension. I should mention that the lines through the images are from my stinkin' printer. I hope to be getting a new one soon-drives me crazy!
Anywho, I popped up the sentiment I made on my computer and added a ribbon bit to the side.
Voila! Easy peasy!

Challenge runs for 2 weeks, please stop by the Melonheadz blog to check out the details
I'm looking forward to visiting you and seeing your creations

L is for....

It's Digi Darla challenge day! The theme is an alphabet challenge.

I chose to use the digi Lil Love is Birds

I've been working on doing C.A.S. type of cards and think this fits that. This digi was super cute to colour up with my copics and the washi tape made it super easy to put together.

The challenge runs for one week and the winner gets 5 free digis. Use a Digi Darla image and you can win 3 images!

Looking forward to seeing your awesome creations!

Lacy Sunshine

It's an anything goes challenge at the Lacy Sunshine blog.

This cutie was a freebie on L.S. Facebook page.  Her name is Valentina and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with her. A valentine's day banner for the mantel.

Here is one section I am entering into the challenge

I thought I would alternate her with hearts on a string. I can definitely see me using her again, can't you picture her holding an apple for her teacher?
Thanks for stopping by, have a super day

Guess what, I have some news!

Melonheadz friends challenge

It's challenge time at Melonheadz Friends, the theme is Birthday!

We have 23 birthday's in Jan. Yes, 23. It's party time almost everyday. And lots of cake, lots of it. I blame them all for making me break my new's year resolution year after year-lol Yep, it's all there fault  ;)

Here is my card for the challenge

Isn't that digi perfect for this paper? I added a little copper shoe and a rub-on that say 'once upon a time'
The inside says ' a beautiful princess was born,  Happy Birthday!'

Thank goodness it's getting warmer, I have to run out and get more eggs for cake!
Thanks for stopping by :)

MelJen's challenge 191

MelJen's is back with an anything goes challenge.

I picked up this moose a while back and it certainly fits with the weather we are having right now!
I decided to make a Christmas card for two reasons

1) Because I have all my craft stuff laying all over my desk
2) I didn't send out any Christmas cards that were homemade. I was cleared out at a craft show and I didn't have the oomph to make any more.

SO I am making them early this year. My goal is to make 2 a month-that should be do-able....I hope.

Here is the card I am entering

Cute, right? The polka dot is tape and the grey ribbon has an adhesive background. The sentiment is a rub-on from Making Memories I've had forever.

Thanks for stopping by!

Clear it out challenge

Today's the first Clear it out Challenge day and the theme is : Thank you, use buttons

My image is a character called Gertrude by the challenge sponsors Bugaboo Stamps. You can find Grumpy Gertrude fake plants here .

So there is a bit of background to this card design but I'll save that to the end

When we were waiting for our house to be build we stayed with my father in law. Actually he moved out so we could move in. He thought that would be the easiest for us since we had two very small children.

In addition to taking care of the children I was learning how to use an accounting program to further my career. I kept the house up (just the basics) but in doing so I totally forgot to water the plants. Like never. SO wasn't my father in law surprised when he came back. He asked me how often I watered them (assuming I OVER watered them) It never dawned on me that they were real plants-lol.

When I saw this digi I thought this would be the perfect card to send to my father in law as a thank you for having us at Christmas. I think he'll get quite the chuckle ;)

Thanks for stopping by. Please remember the challenge is weekly now so you have until Monday night to enter~good luck!

Hello...I'm back!

Hi, my name is Laura and it's been 7 days since my last post....did you miss me? lol

I was off visiting family out of town and came back to a very icy town. Thankfully we weren't in any of the 30+ accidents on the road. I'm so glad to be back home. I love visiting but nothing seems as comfy as my own bed.

The challenge this week at Digi Darla's is a photo inspiration.
Over the break we saw the movie Frozen and that's exactly what I felt when I saw the photo-lol.

I had originally tried to make a scene from that movie using these two digis

DigiDarlas Natural Beauty  Natural beauty     and DigiDarlas Fair Maiden CastleFair Maiden Castle

It didn't work out so good, seems I have a lot of learning to do still with making the sky/clouds. So, instead I used Natural Beauty and created this card using a quote from the movie

If you 're up for a challenge I'd love to see if you can make a scene using those two digis. I think it would be so cute!

The DD challenge runs until next Sat. and you can win 5 digis Use a DD image and you are entered into a separate draw for 3 images!

Can't wait to see what you create :)
