Penny's Embellishment Challenge

If you are like me you haven't lugged out your embossing tools for a while, but now is your chance!

Head on over to Penny's challenge and join in the 'embossing' challenge. The sponsor is Sassy Studios and here is the fun card I made

I embossed the background with a SU folder adding texture to the background. The image was cut out around the arm, then punched with a circle punch. I coloured her up with my copic markers and printed a sentiment from the computer.

The challenge runs for one week and the winner will get 4 images of their choice. There is also another sponsor so head on over to Penny's for all the details.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Melonheadz challenge time!

Head on over to the Melonheadz Friends challenge blog and join in the fun! This week our theme is 'For Kids' and we are to use a kids image.

When I saw this bundle I knew I had to make my son a card, seriously, how cute it this set?

Fun, right? AND this is only a little bit of what you get in the kit -check it out here You get 26 images (black and coloured) for $11.

The superhero was pre-coloured and the building/light I coloured with my copic markers. The road is a black piece of paper that I added lines to with a white gel pen.

The challenge runs for 2 weeks-looking forward to your creations :)

Shades of Blue challenge

It's time for another fun challenge at the Digi Sketch Challenge blog!

This week's theme is 'shades of blue' and the sponsor is ....

I used this set to make my card

For this card I chose to print the image in blue and go crazy on the rest.
And crazy I did! I found a stash of pearls and a bottle of flowers I have had forever. So, I dumped them all out and made a flower bouquet. The background paper is also from my stash a Stampin' Up purchase way back in the day.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I do hope you will join in the challenge, which lasts for 2 weeks.

Penny's Favourite embellishments

Head on over to Penny's challenge and play along in the challenge. It's a super easy one this week by showcasing your favourite embellishment.

My fav embellie is ribbon. You can always add ribbon to a card to; add colour, fill up a space, or add a message (with printed on words) Here is my card using an image from one of the sponsors
Eureka Stamps

My card was taken at night so I had to play around in photoshop to get better lightening. The image was coloured with my copic markers and the butterfly is popped up on the card. Ribbon was added, as was some bling to finish off the card.

I hope you will join us at Penny's and play along. The challenge runs for one week and there are 2 sponsors, so go and check out the challenge :)

Clear it out challenge

It's time to Clear it Out and boy did I ever! When I first started card making back in 2004 I made about 50 of these card bases. I had great plans to make some quick cards up but nothing ever seemed right. I think since the pink and purple are so bold.

I often make card bases so when I need a quick card, I have the base and colour my image to match up. I keep these in a card box-somehow these bases never seemed right until now.

Here is the card I made for the 'anything goes' challenge at Clear it out. I used the image from one of the sponsors is WhoopsiDaisy

So what do you think? Does it work? I added some sparkles to the pink circles, as well as, her hair flowers/ribbons. She was coloured with my copic markers. The sentiment was printed on my computer.

Thanks for stopping in and if you' d like to hang out with me-join the DT call ;)

Lacy Sunshine Challenge

It's a dark, goth challenge at Lacy Sunshine!

When I saw that I thought, oh darn how do I do that? BUT, there was also the option of making hair a funky colour for the challenge-that I could totally do!

Here is my 'trying to be goth but failed' , odd coloured hair -girl card ;)

I am not sure why I chose to write surprise or why I coloured her heart black.....maybe I could write on the inside 'I'm breaking up with you' -lol.  Anywho, she was coloured with my copic markers and I used lots of layers. The scallop edge is a reflections border sticker (love those!) and I finished it off with ribbon.

Do you have trouble making goth cards? I mean seriously, look at that cute innocent digis face-lol
Thanks for stopping by  :)

MelJens Challenge

It's a 'dad' challenge at the MelJen's challenge blog.

Since I don't have a dad I chose to make this card for my hubbie.

My son just loves Superman and thought daddy needed a matching shirt, so this image is  perfect!

Here is my card

I coloured it up with my copic markers and used my SU (Stampin Up) punch for the stars. I just think he is the cutest!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges too;

Southern Girls Challenge
ArtByMiran Challenge
SisterAct Card Challenge

Thanks so much for stopping in-and don't forget that Melissa is having a 50% off sale at her shop until July 4th so stock up ;)

Penny challenge time!

Head on over to Penny's challenge blog for a new challenge!

The theme is 'anything goes' and the sponsor is

They have some really cute images over there. I chose to create with  'Ozzie with gift'. He was pre-coloured so it made this super easy to make. I printed him several times and popped up certain pieces to add texture. Check it out

It was hard to get a picture of just how glittery this little guy is. The bottom flourishes are sparkled so he looks like he is on the snow :) I also added some sparkle to the ribbon on the gift.

Thank so much for stopping by, I appreciate that!

The challenge at Penny's runs for one week, can't wait to see what you create.

Hugs,Laura

Here is my card

I coloured 'spunky the  mouse' with my copic markers and created my own tag for the corner. I plan to add a name next to the button.

It's a manly challenge

Head on over and join us at the Digi Sketch Challenge blog! The theme is 'for the men' and the sponsor is Dr. Digi

I had so much fun making this card with 'Dish Cloth Dave' , but was even more excited to finally use these charms I won back in 2010. Check it out

Aren't the spoon and fork cute?
Okay so is this a boy card? Well it is in my house, here is why....
When I met my hubbie he had a male roommate that was less than clean. So, he was the clean up guy. Many things have faded away since we've been married, but he still always does the dishes. I thought this would be a cute father's day card from me.

I hope you join us in the challenge, it is always fun to see 'male' cards.
Thanks as always for stopping in :)

It's a sew challenge at MelJen's

I made this card for a dear friend who moved away a few years ago. I love that when we pick up the phone it's as if time has stood still  :)

The challenge at MelJen's is sew perfect. So I added some stitching to the side to be able to enter this week.

I coloured it with my copic markers adding B10 to the window edges. The background paper is Basic Gray I've had forever. The ribbon is S.U, and matched the paper pretty good I think. The rubon sentiment is from an old SU stash as well. I added black faux stitching on the right side to balance out the card.

Thanks for stopping in, I appreciate it :)

JellyPark Post Pals Club

I joined JellyPark's post pal card club this past week.

The thought is to make cards with digi images (supplied by JellyPark) to send cards to children (and their siblings) battling illness.

If you would like to join in, search for them on Facebook using the words JellyPark Post Pals Club

This is the first image and card I have made for them

I had my children select the receiver of this card. They chose a sibling who is very close in age to their own. I hope he loves the card and it makes him smile :)

On of the reasons I began card making was to use my cards to 'send a smile' to someone else. I began at Church giving my cards to the Pastor to distribute to shut-ins, people at the hospital, etc. So this club is right up my alley :)

I do hope you join in and help make a child smile!

Thanks for stopping by,
Laura
