Penny's Challenge time

Head on over to Penny's Challenges and join in the fun! The theme this week is 'pastels' and one of the sponsors is Sassy Studio Designs

Here is my card

I coloured it with my copic markers using pastel colours. I had printed the image so large that it left little room to add much else other than a big bow. The sentiment I added to the bottom of the picture before I printed the image.

The challenge runs for one week. I encourage you to check out what the other DT's have done by visiting the blog.
Have a super week :)

Heavy Metal Challenge at MelJen's

Okay maybe not Heavy Metal as in the music type, but the MelJen's challenge blog is asking us to bust out the metal non the less!

The digi I used was a freebie a while back.

I had to dig through my stuff to find my metal embellishments. The last time I used them was when I made my wedding album......15 years ago!

Hi, my name is Laura and I am a craft supply hoarder. Lol
Thanks for popping by :)

Lacy Sunshine, Clear it out Challenge mash up

Tee hee, can you tell I never know what to write as my title?

It's challenge time once again at the Clear it out Challenge Blog. The theme/stash is Purples.

This cute but ugly image, called Sherry Stinky Buggmee is from the Lacy Sunshine digi shoppe

Here's what I did with it

The purple flowers are from my stash that I have had since about 2004. I coloured it up with my copic markers and added a button to the flower made from spellbinders. I have no idea what I'd use this card for. I thought maybe 'heard your feeling a little green' or maybe just 'hugs'.

The challenge runs for one week and this is the last week to vote for your favourite DT card, please vote for them :)

I'd also like to enter this into the current Lacy Sunshine challenge as green/purples is one of my favourite colour combos :)

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it!

I've joined a new Design Team!

I am super excited to announce that I have joined a new DT at the Digi Sketch Challenge!

I really love the idea for this challenge blog as you can follow the theme OR sketch.
The challenge for this round is Springtime.

The sponsor is Imagine That! The digi I chose to work with is called Daffodil.

If you stalk my blog you know I have a hard time with yellows so I really had to think ahead on this one. I found the background papers in my stash and went from there. I think it turned out pretty nice :)
I coloured it with my copic markers and added 3 half-pearls to the center of the flower. The sentiment I printed from the computer and I tied a big green bow to bring it all together :)

You have to go check out what my Teammates have designed, cute images is all I'm saying ;)
The challenge runs for 2 weeks. I am super excited to come visit your blog to see your creations

Hugs,
Laura

It's challenge time!

Oh my gosh I had so much fun making this card for the current challenge at Melonheadz Friends -circles.

My sister in law moved to a new house and decided she wanted her kitchen a 50's theme. I used this bundle from Melonheadz Illustrating  to make a card for her.

I printed the coloured image after I layered the images in MicrosoftWord. I cut it out and placed it on top of some circles I punched out (great way to use up scraps). The sentiment I made in word and attached twine on the back of it.

That's why I love Melonheadz digis, cards come together sooooo quick, but are uber cute!
The challenge runs for 2 weeks and the winner gets to pick a bundle from the store!
I hope you'll join us and play along :)

Lacy Sunshine Challenge

It's challenge time at the Lacy Sunshine blog. I used this adorable ladybug image for my card because she looks so much like my daughter, crazy curls and all.

I chose this one as my little peanut is considered a 'ladybug', being in senior kindergarten. Last year she was a bumble bee. And when she moves on to grade one, they are called butterflies. Cute right?

I have found some really fun things for her this year including this adorable paper at Michaels.

Here she is...

Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Here is my C.A.S. card

I made the sentiment and you can have it to :)

I coloured the image with my copics and changed the font colour in Word to match it.

Animal Challenge begins today!

Head on over for an 'animal challenge' at the Clear it out challenge blog.

Our super cool sponsor is MelJen's.  If you a newbie starting out, I highly recommend her digis. Melissa always adds lines to indicate where shadowing should go. This helped me out a lot when I first started :)

Here is the card I made

I had a lot of fun making this little guy :)
To make the background I cut out 2 scallop circles and used the masking technique to make the clouds. The rest was coloured in copic markers.

Head on over to the challenge blog to find out the stash item and don't forget to use it so you can win ;)
Thanks for stopping by

It's an Easter challenge...

Head on over to the Melonheadz Challenge and join in the Easter fun!

The DT have made some super cards for you to enjoy.

Here is mine using Australian Bilby Easter Bundle. I love all the images in this one :)

Every digi on my card was pre-coloured. You can chose to get them black/white as well. This card came together super easy. I printed the chick twice and popped it up. The flower I've had in my stash for years.(like maybe 5 or 6). I layered all the images in word which was pretty easy to do.

The kids were out on the weekend doing an Easter egg hunt so it was super easy to get into the spirit. I love seeing them so excited :)  But wow, did they ever bring home some chocolate! I think the Easter bunny can skip our house this year-lol

The challenge runs for two weeks and the winner gets a to chose a bundle from Nikki's Etsy store.

Thanks for stopping by :)

It's challenge time at Lacy Sunshine

The flowers are starting to come out of the ground so this is a perfect challenge for Lacy Sunshine!-add flowers.

I used a cute little digi that looks soooooo much like my daughter. I had other plans for this digi when I got her,but I think it works well here too.

Isn't she cute :) I am not a fan of orange and pink but in the spirit of clearing out my craft room I stumbled across this card base and decided to use it. I coloured her up with my copic markers and added a flower and sentiment to finish it off.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, enjoy your weekend :)

Penny' s Challenge-All things new

It's challenge time over at Penny's Challenges and the sponsor is the fabulous Lacy Sunshine!

We were allowed to select an image to use and I picked Haley Hydrangia.

I love Spring. It is the beginning of all things new. It's the season of the resurrection of Jesus.

When I saw it, it looked like Haley was coming up out of the pot, new, blossoming. I knew what I wanted to do.

To me this card represents dying to self, kneeling at the cross and following Jesus. The dead leaves represent the old, the bright flowers represent the new. We are all works in progress. I even thought about what she is looking at. To me the butterfly is the perfect symbol of a person coming to Christ. I think this would make a lovely Baptism card.

Some of you may look at the card and say 'nice card' and not understand what I mean. That's okay, I just wanted to explain how this card came together :)

Penny's challenge runs for one week. The winner gets 3 Lacy Sunshine images.
Thanks for stopping by

Penny's challenge time!

Hello :)

The challenge at Penny's Challenges is 'feathered friends'.  Such a fab topic for this week as the birds have started to gather again outside our window. Sure we have the odd bird that sticks around for the long winter, but we have tons of birds that enjoy our bush  in the front in spring.

One of the sponsors is Bugaboo Stamps and I had the privilege of using Birthday Peguin-Balloon to make my card.

Head over to the blog and check out the other DT's fab creations :) The challenge runs for one week.
Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday, 1 April 2014

Let's hear it for the boys!

It's time to Clear out your stash at the Clear it out blog.

This week our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps , our theme is boys/use stickers

I always love when we are sponsored by Bugaboo. They have so many stamps to chose from and they are always so fun. This week's card is no exception. Check it out

I had a lot fun making this. So where is the sticker you ask? The bottom row of stars is a sticker from Stampin' Up I've had for a while  years.

I coloured it up with my copic markers and created the sentiment in word. I really hope you'll join us in this fun challenge. Can't wait to see what you've created :)
