Happy Birthday Blog Hop!

Hi, welcome to my blog!

I have been running the Clear it out Challenge Blog for a little over 2 1/2 years (I carried it on when the original creator wanted to close it down)
I have enjoyed this journey so far, meeting lots of lovely people both DT and participants. I appreciate all the comments you leave me here and on the C.I.O blog, and I'm so happy you are here celebrating our blogiversary :)

Here is the blog hop order and if you get lost you can always go back to the Clear it out blog to find your way.

Clear it out challenge blog

For my card I have chosen to use an image from the sponsor MelJen's

I love Melissa's designs. They were one of the first digis I used as I learned to colour.  Here is my card with some bling!

The picture doesn't do it justice as the colours are in fact; pale yellow, grey, and light teal. Unfortunately I have a little guy fascinated with my camera and often chooses to change my settings :(

So...want to know what you can win? It's a 8x10 envelope filled with crafty stuff.
Like what? How about some dies, embossing folder, and whatever else I can stuff in there? I'm pretty sure I'm at about $40 and I haven't filled it yet. If you are chosen and you do not live in North America I will give you a $10 Gift Certificate to the sponsor of your choice (must be a past/present sponsor of the Clear it out Blog)

To win, leave me a comment and tell me what your favourite die is. I'm in love with the heart die from La La Land, it's tooooo cute!

It's Dig Darla Day!

This is the last weekly challenge at the Digi Darla Blog, they will be switching to bi-weekly. Which means, more time to play!

This week it's a Masculine challenge and I chose to create with the digi Groovy Handyman.

The image is over-sized so I kept the rest of the card fairly simple.  I chose this digi as it reminded me of my great-uncle who recently passed. He used to stop by our house everyday when I was a kid with his giant red lunch box. Everyday he'd be so excited to see what 'the wifey' packed and made something so small seem like the greatest part of our day.

The challenge runs for one week and you can win 5 images from the Digi Darla store. See you tomorrow for the Clear it out Challenge Blog hop!

Bling it on...

It's challenge time at the MelJen's blog, the theme is bling it on!

Challenge accepted!! (ha, ha for those of you who watch How I met your mother, you'll get the reference)

I had this lovely Diva coloured up for a bit, my intent was to use it for a Valentine's day card. Since I never got around to it then, I thought I'd make an early anniversary card for the hubbie.

I started with embossing my purple background with dots...but then you couldn't see them -eek! So I used my white gel pen to add dashing, breaking up the purple. The scallop circle and beige piece are left over from my scrap pile.
Then the bling began!!! I added a gem necklace following the existing necklace from the digi. I added gems to the scallops edging and I added 3 purple flowers full of gems! I think it was just the right amount of bling for this card.  The sentiment was also from my stash (not sure from where)

Thanks for stopping by :)

Clear it out challenge time!

It's time to Clear it out! The theme is reds-super easy!

Our fantastic sponsor is Digi Darla Designs. I am very fortunate to be a part of the DT for Digi Darla as there as some great digis.

I am using one of my favourite types of images from DD (which is all the cute little people) -Fireman Frank

I used up some red scraps and cut out hearts. The paper under the sentiment is from a 12x12 paper I bought in 2009 (yes,  I may need to go on an episode of hoarders) The black boarder is from recollections, it's a paper sticker border.

I made this for the hubbie to make him giggle-it worked ;)
Thanks for stopping by, the challenge runs until Monday night.

It's one for the boys!

It's a 'manly' challenge at the Melonheadz Friends challenge blog.

I made this card on Friday using the bundle Valentine's Stingbeans combo. This whole pack is super cute 24 digis (black and white) for $11.00 <---no that's not a typo, that's .45/digi!!!

Anywho, here is my card

I used up some left over red scraps, red/white twine and grey/white super cute ribbon tape I purchased at Michaels. I added the sentiment in my word program before printing this coloured digi, adding arrows to either end.

Challenge runs until March 2nd, can't wait to see what you create!

It's Digi Darla Day

It's a photo challenge at the Digi Darla blog this week. Use the photo to inspire you to create-easy peasy!

I used the Digi Called ' Thinking of you in your loss'

I chose to use the theme of the picture, as well as, the colours white/green/yellow. I added brads to the centers of the flowers. I also used some glittery swirls to make it look 'prettier'

The Digi Darla challenge runs for one week AND there is some big news so pop on over there and find out what it is!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Lacy Sunshine challenge

It's a Lacy Sunshine 'layer' challenge and I've got just the digi!

The kids are lazing in front of the T.V. cheering on the Canadians as they compete in the Olympics. I thought how fun would it be to colour up this digi to show our support for the Women's hockey team :)

Woot! Woot! Go Canada go! I used a Basic Gray paper pad to do the layers (8 total) and added a #1 from a left over scrap I had. She was coloured up with my Copic markers and I just love how her hair turned out :)
Thanks so much for stopping by, I appreciate your comments!

From the Heart progressive challenge

It's the February progressive challenge at the From the Heart blog. This cute little bird and a ton of sentiments were free when you played last month. If you didn't get a chance to play along, you can check out the blog on how to get it.

Here is my take on the challenge

I used up some left over papers, twine and a button. I added the sentiment from FTH to the digi before I printed it. I coloured the bird with my copic markers. I was trying to make this card for a male or female.
The inside is another sentiment from the set and it says 'it's just another birdday'

Too cute! The challenge runs until the end of the month so you still have time to play along :)

It's Digi Darla day

Welcome back to my blog :) Last weeks posts were a mess and didn't post as scheduled. Mind you, I scheduled them for the wrong week so that may explain a few things (sigh).

I was away at a funeral but I am glad to be back in the swing of things.

Today's challenge at the Digi Darla Challenge blog is 'copy cat'. Hop on over there and get your free digi so you can play too. Here is my take on the challenge

I chose to make a clean and simple card. To make the shadowing I cut out the image 3 times and offset the hearts and banner. I coloured it up with my copic markers and added gems around the heart. I also used the tip of my markers to add colour around the heart too. Bakers twine finished of the top.

The challenge runs for 1 week. Prize is 5 digis of your choice :) Looking forward to seeing your creations!

It's Digi Darla Day

(Okay maybe it was yesterday...but you still have some time to play)
This has been a crazy week and I have preposted this post. Hopefully I will be back in action later this week once we are home.

Anywho, the challenge this week is 'your style'. I looked back through my Digi Darla cards and found one I think describes my style. This one uses Digi Darla's Manger scene

All my cards are made with love. I try to always let the image be the focal point (verses tons of flowers/papers, etc)  Other than that, I use up what I have.

So what's your style? I'll be back before the challenge ends (this Saturday) to check out your blogs. Can't wait to see what you create :)

Melonheadz Friends challenge

Hello, I have pre posted this so hopefully it will go as planned ;)  EEEK! It didn't, sorry :(

I've been away attending a funeral and didn't want to miss this chance to tell you it's time to play at the Melonheadz Friend Blog.

The theme is Valentine's/Love. Here is my card

The image was precoloured which made it super easy to pull this card together quickly. I simply highlighted the image with my B11 Copic Marker.

Melonheadz challenge runs for 2 weeks and the prize is 1 bundle of your choice from the Etsy store.
So head on over and enter, I'll be popping around your blogs when I get back to see what you've created :)
Until then...
