It's Digi Darla Day!

Good morning! I am so excited that I had a chance to get a card done this week. Hubbie has been away and it makes it hard to sneak away with the kids under foot. Even past bedtime when daddy's away there is always some little one needing something. It's like they just know you need to get something done!

Today the theme at Digi Darla's is : At the Beach

I just love the line of these little penguins, they are so fun to use. This little gal is found in the shop under 'DD Beach Time'

Don't you just love all the little details in this digi? I used my Copics to colour it up and a white gel pen to add dots to her umbrella.

You have one week to join in the fun. The random drawn winner gets 5 images from the store AND if you use a DD image you could win 3 more!
Have a super week!

Clear it Out time!

Head on over for another challenge at the Clear it Out Blog!

I used the image  Digi Darla Tux for my paper piecing on this card. Digi Darla is one of the sponsors this round. You can win up to 5 digis!

You can even combine challenges and make your project to suit the Digi Darla challenge too. Why not double your chances at getting some amazing digital images?

I was inspired by the new DT at CIO, they love to scrapbook! I dug out some old SU stickers and added them to the paper pieced tux. To colour the bow tie I used a white gel pen. I then used my W1 Copic marker and added some shadowing to the tux.

The CIO challenge runs for two weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create :) Good luck!

Week #2 at Clear it Out

It's the second week of the challenge over at the Clear it Out Challenge Blog, have you joined in the fun yet?
The challenge is a male card with metal. Now before you scroll down and look at my card, I must warn you it's a litle girly. BUT, it's totally meant for a boy,my hubbie to be exact. We just celebrated our anniversary and he took me away for a weekend, with no kids. That never happens so I wanted to make him a card to say thanks!

Okay, now you can look.....

The image (and one of our sponsors) is from The Stamping Chef.
Have you checked out the images there? Some are cutesy, some risque, but all fun to colour up :)

I used my Copic markers to colour her, metallic silver paper as a card base, and a heart brad to finish it off.  All items from my stash :)

The challenge runs one more week, but pop over to the blog today and see if you are a winner from the last challenge

Have a fabulous week :)

It's Digi Darla Day!

Well the hubbie has been away working for the weekend so getting in my crafty time has been tough. That's why I love Splitcoaststampers. You can pop on there for inspiration, but my fav is for the tutorials. I used this tutorial to make my 'card' for the Digi Darla Challenge this week : Fancy Folds.

The digi I used is from DD called New Baby Balloon Animals. Stinkin' cute right?

I think I am going to stuff a gift card in this, maybe wrapped into some little bitty baby socks! Aw, I just love the smell of baby. Sorry, I digress....

The challenge runs for one week. You can win 5 DD images, and if you play along with a DD image you can win an additional 3 more! Cool huh?

As I am writing this post I notice my buttons are lop sided (sigh). Chalk it up to kids hanging off my legs while I'm crafting-lol.

Thanks for stopping in :)

It's opposite time at Meljens!

Welcome back to my blog! This is where I am suppose to write something interesting, witty, or just so darn funny you'd almost pee your pants. But the hubbie has been away and aside from making this card, I'm all out of juice! Those little monkeys of mine kept me on my toes this weekend. This momma is going to sleep SO well tonight :)

Anywho, it's time for another challenge at Meljen's challenge blog. The challenge: Opposites attract colour challenge.

We are to use opposites on this colour wheel

Here is the card I came up with

I used the opposites orange /blue and red/ green. I love this little froggy and wanted to give him depth so he is cut out a few times and layered with dimensionals (pop dots). I coloured him up with Copic markers and hand wrote the tag 'cute' where you'd normally find the Levis tag :)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a fabulous week!

Blast off at the Clear it Out Challenge Blog

It's challenge time once again at the Clear it Out Challenge Blog. This weeks' theme is to make a male card and incorporate metal.

I used an image from one of the sponsors this week : The Stamping Chef

To create my card I used Copic markers to colour the rocket. I added my metal star brad in the centre of the rocket, and liquid applique to make the clouds puffy. The numner 7 is a Making Memories rub on. The whole image is popped up on dimensionals. I also added drops of glitter to the already shiny paper to make them like stars.

Thanks for stopping by. You have 2 weeks to play in this challenge. I look forward to seeing your creations :)

It's Digi Darla Day!

It's all about the boys this week at the Digi Darla Challenge Blog.

I picked up this cute DD imaged called Boy Bearing Gifts.

The papers are left overs from a scrapbook page I did. The image was coloured with my copic markers and I added chipboard stars to finish it off.

I am looking forward to seeing what you create :) Thanks for stopping by!
