Meljen's Funny Sentiment Challenge

Meljen's is sponsoring our blog Clear it Out, which is to use a child image. I paired that challenge with MelJen's challenge 'funny bone'. I chose to use the image Gruffy Little Gnome. I think this stamp is hilarious on it's own, but added the sentiment as per the challenge.

This card could work for so many occasions. It makes me giggle everytime I look at it :) Thanks for stopping by!

Hambo Hoedown Birthday card

It's time for another Hambo Hoedown Challenge! Zig Zags are all the rage and the challenge is to incorporate zig zags into your card. I paper pieced the Hambo image Bird Balloon for my card. I added some dots to the bottom of the chevron and popped it up.

Thanks for popping by, have a great Sunday!

Yee-Haw Great grandma's turning 90!

As we mourned the loss of my great-grandmother in-law today, I needed to make a card for my other grandmother in-law who is celebrating 90 years!

I chose to make this card so I could enter it into the Tiddly inks challenge -make it like ASA

Elements I chose to case inlcuded; flowers, blue/white background, and a square card. I don't usually make those. Here is my card

We use to run around as kids yelling' Yee Haw Grandma!" So I wrote that on the inside. I think she'll get a kick out of it! I know I giggled :)

Hambo Hoedown Challenge

So as you may  have read on previous posts I am trying to use up my scraps.

Enter the ugly paper. I know you all have some. Some one may have given it to you, or you thought it might 'work' and bought it, but it never did. So there is sits....til now!

I have had this background paper for about 3 years. At least. Only this one small piece. I think I inherited it from a crop a while back. My best guess is the original owner 'accidentally' shoved in amongst my papers. Ya know, doesn't want to throw it out, can't figure out their own use for it, so they kindly passed it on to me ;)

Seriously, I have no idea where it came from and surprisingly no one has come to claim it!

So that would be where the Hambo Hoedown came into play this week. My gift would be using up what I have. I think it's the Scottish in me that has taught me to be frugal. This of course spills into my everyday life. For example, this week I saved 46% on my groceries using coupons :) Woot! Woot!

So here is my card using the Panda Gift image from Hambo Stamps

A Day for Daises Challenge

My second post today is to celebrate 100 days until Christmas! Yep, only 100 days :)
I always start my shopping early since we have so many to buy for. This year I lucked out and got my sister's name to buy for. She requested an assortment of cards.

I've decorated a really cute card box (I bought a while back) and now I'm just loading it up with cards :)

Here is a card I made for her. I used this image from A Day for Daisies to make it. The challenge calls for a tag on your project. I orginally was going go make it a tag, which then became an ornament. However, I didn't know if an ornament is considered a tag. So, I added the little tag that says 'On baby's first Christmas'

I think the little tag just made it cuter :0) The bow combined with the ornament  popped up makes this a very dimensional card. I hope she likes it!

Thanks for stopping by.

P.s Pop on over and enter the challenge. There is a freebie on the blog if you don't have an ADFD image already.

MelJens' Challenge-Use your scraps

Hello! I hope my posting finds you enjoying this cool weekend. I started lugging out my children's fall clothes and now I cannot find my bed. Eek! I know it's under there somewhere....next time I should start earlier in the a.m.-lol. We've been fortunate to have many clothes given to us and my daughter is loving all her hand me downs. We are so blessed :)

My card today is for the scrap challenge over at MelJen's.
I had coloured up this little cutie before, with the intent to make a father's day card. That didn't happen-lol. Instead my sister asked for some children's b-day cards. So I made this

I used up some scrap papers I had in my "bucket-o-scraps". It seems like that bucket is never ending! I will say though my personal challenge of using up my supplies has been on track (minus a few Copic and tape purchases) The sentiment says 'happy birthday lil' man'

I think my card looks way cuter in person but unless you leave near by, this will have to do for you -teehee

Hambo Hoedown

It's splatter time at the Hambo Hoedown. Here is the card I made using the digi Mouse Painter.

I didn't have anything to splatter with! I tried my reinkers, my copics, nothing!! I didn't even have paint to use. So I took a silhouette off google and made my own splatter.

It's time to Clear it Out!

It's the first Tuesday of the month which means it's Clear it Out Challenge time!

The theme of the challenge is sympathy. Not a very easy one for me. I find this to be the most difficult type of card to make. We were given some awesome images from Digi Darla Designs to play with. I  chose to use the pre-coloured Poppy Oval.

It's amazing how quick a card can come together when you don't have to colour it! Here is my card

I printed the image 3 times and layered it on white, then black. I stamped a 'crooked' sympathy sentiment so I covered it up with a digi one. I then added a ribbon. Easy peasy.

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, I'm off to take my monkeys to school. I think I am more nervous than they are ;)

Birdie Brown...make a wish

Head on over for a fun challenge at Birdie Brown. The challenge is to use her free digital image Apple Tree and Bear in a card.

Fall brings so much change. Kids back to school, cooler days and beautiful colours. It's my favourite time of year. Add a couple of family birthdays and it's the perfect season.

Here is a birthday card I made.  Inside doesn't have a sentiment as of yet, I was thinking along the lines of 'may your basket overflow with warm wishes'. Too cheesy?

After I loaded up my card I had to giggle. You can see that I added a little butterfly, except proportionately it may be a tad to big. Can you image what that bear would be thinking? It's as big as it's head -lol

I'd also like to enter this into the Digi Haven month long challenge.

Thanks for popping in!

Saturated Canary Card

SO I stumbled across a blog from across the pond. Where exactly I'm not sure. BUT, I do know that they are associated somehow with one of my fav digi companies Saturated Canary.

If you haven't seen these digis, you just have to. Go ahead, click the link...just promise you'll come back here ;)

Here is my card for the challenge

I have no idea where the sentiment is from, it was in my digi file (with no name) So if you know where it came from please let me know so I can give credit :) I coloured her with my limited supply of copics. Added some flowers, glitter swirl things (I've had forever) and some stickles to the sentiment heart. Voila!

Hope you are enjoying your long weekend :)

It's Hambo Time....Hi-Ya!

This week at the Hambo Hoedown it's time to 'tear it up'. Paper that is! For playing last week, we were given the digital image Wee Henry Karate to use. If you didn't play last week, you can still jump on board and make a card. No Hambo images? No problem you can purchase them (or snag a freebie) in their store and join in :)

I kept my card simply and left Wee Henry as the focus. I ripped my polka dot background paper and popped up some stars. My printer decided to omit lines while printing, so the sentiment doesn't come like that (nor does the image). To hide it, I coloured it red to match his headband.

Thanks for popping by and leaving your comments :) Have a great weekend!
